Welcome to the Tūranganui-a-Kiwa/Gisborne Kāhui Ako home page. The Tūranganui-A-Kiwa Kāhui Ako is made up of three Communities of Learning – Taha Tinana, Taha Whānau and Taha Hinengaro - working as ONE collective to address the achievement of learners, professional learning of school staff across the Gisborne region’s primary, intermediate, and secondary schools, and over time including the early childhood and tertiary sectors.
The philosophy behind the Tūranganui ā Kiwa Gisborne Kāhui Ako is developing a community of experts & practice. It is about collaboration, collaboration focussed on providing the very best learning and success pathways for all our ākonga, kaiako and tumuaki irrespective of what kura they attend and what strengths, skills and challenges they face and bring with them. It’s about the GREATER GOOD for Tūranganui ā Kiwa, our ākonga and their future.
'Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.'
'My strength is not that of a single warrior but that of many'.
